About Us

Originally established in 1966 as an intermediate school, Kalāheo became a high school in 1973. Over tiwelcomesignme it has enjoyed a reputation for high academic student achievement. The school curriculum offers a wide range of courses, including honors and Advanced Placement courses in language arts, mathematics, social studies, and science. The Western Association of Schools and Colleges accredited Kalāheo High School in 2004 for six years with a mid-term review. Six years is the maximum length of an accreditation term.

Ethnically, the student population is predominately Caucasian, with smaller groups of Hawaiian or part-Hawaiian, Asian, Hispanic, Afro-Americans, and others. Approximately 20% of the student body is connected to Marine Corps Base Hawaii.

The attendance area encompasses the land stretching along the Kailua coastline from Lanikai to Kailua proper, Kalāheo Hillside, Aikahi, and Kaneohe Bay Drive to Nanamoana Street.
